My Shoes Announce Their Retirement

Earlier this morning my green tennis shoes announced that they will be retiring at the end of this month. Since their rookie season in 2005, they have been to 20 states and Canada, and have had a batting average of perfect. After such a record filled career, they should be a shoe-in for the hall of fame.

In a statement released to the media this morning my green shoes had this to say:
"It's been a long run. Since entering the league in 2005 we've accomplished everything we set out for. The fans have been extremely supportive. Since last fall, we've known that this time was coming, and it's bittersweet. We'll miss all the action, but we look forward to chilling."

They are expected to hold a live press conference on ESPN later this week.
